Spray drones, crop-sensing payloads and autonomous field robots have crossed from novelty into genuinely useful tools. What's missing in South Africa is an independent layer between the global manufacturers and the farm gate — someone who can look at your fields, your crops and your numbers and tell you, honestly, what's worth buying and what isn't.

Single-brand dealers can't play that role; their incentive is to move their own stock. AlterAgro takes the opposite position. We don't depend on any one manufacturer's margin, so our recommendation can start with your operation instead of their catalogue.

A box-mover sells you a drone. We solve a problem — even when the answer is "not yet."

AlterAgro is a venture of Yield SPM (Pty) Ltd, a South African product-and-operations studio based in Bloemfontein (Reg 2024/185151/07). Yield SPM builds software and agentic-operations systems for real businesses — the same engineering rigour now goes into how AlterAgro selects, integrates and supports robotics.

The venture is led by Charl le Roux, who brings established relationships across the South African agricultural sector — the grower, distributor and equipment networks that turn good technology into adopted technology. AlterAgro is built as a standalone venture, structured so it can grow into its own entity as it scales.

We're early, and we'd rather be straight about that than overstate it. What we offer now is independent judgement, the supplier relationships to source across brands, and the discipline to stand behind what we deploy.
